Thunderstorms are expected across much of the country in the coming days, especially in central and eastern Australia.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM), severe weather conditions are caused by low-pressure troughs across much of the continent, which attract clouds and generate moisture.
Weatherzone forecasts that the stormy weather will persist throughout this week and will likely continue into next week.
Where will it take the storm?
By mid-week, the storm’s area is expected to expand, spreading across much of central and eastern Australia, according to BoM.
Central Australia, south-eastern Queensland and north-eastern NSW are at highest risk of heavy rain, hail and damaging winds on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Storms and showers will continue across eastern parts of the country on Wednesday, with conditions likely to ease in southern and central Australia.
Showers and thunderstorms will continue across north-east NSW and south-east Queensland on Thursday.
Weatherzone predicts severe weather will extend into southern parts of Western Australia by Thursday and Friday.
By the weekend and into early next week, the frontal system, combined with deepening low pressure troughs, will cause further widespread thunderstorms across Australia.
How to prepare for bad weather?
Along with the thunderstorms, heavy hail, violent winds and flash flooding are expected. Heavy rains can cause drainage systems to become overloaded.
The BoM predicts that within the country, storms could cause outback highways to become muddy or impassable, potentially impacting access routes.
Communities are reminded to watch out for fallen trees or branches, as well as prepare for any minor damage to cars or property from wind, rain or hail associated with severe storms.
The BoM urges those in affected areas to check its website regularly for updates on any newly issued storm warnings.
