A man arrested at a security checkpoint near Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s California rally has been charged with firearms charges after he was found in possession of two firearms and a high-capacity magazine, authorities said .
The 49-year-old Las Vegas resident was stopped in a black SUV by Riverside County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Saturday local time and taken into custody without incident, according to the sheriff’s office .
“The incident had no impact on the safety of former President Trump or event attendees,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The sheriff’s office said the arrested man, identified as Vem Miller, was charged with possession of a loaded firearm and a high-capacity magazine. Further details about the charges were not available.
Jail records show Miller was released Saturday on $5,000 ($7,420) bail. He could not immediately be reached for comment Sunday.
